![]() A tomboy growing up, according to her mother, Sue was “dedicated and serious” about the sport, and it was Sue’s idea, not her mother’s, to pursue it through her sophomore year in high school. Sue started on skates around the age of 4. They had four children, three boys and Sue, the youngest. During a stop in Philadelphia, Evelyn met Bob Minter at a dinner. The professional troupe crisscrossed the country by train, presenting spectacular shows with a signature kick line and pinwheel. Her mother, Evelyn, traveled with the Ice Follies for two and a half years. ![]() Minter’s interest in figure skating was innate.
